Kara Janx
Kara Janx was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and later moved to New York to work as an architect. Four years later she changed her profession to design, debuting her collection in 2002. Kara’s intention was to use the skills she had gained from architecture and employ these into her clothing. She wanted to design for an urban girl with an urban edge. As a runner up of the hit Bravo reality TV show, Project Runway, Kara Janx’s designs have become universally recognized. The outfits are fresh and “what’s next” in women’s fashion. We love her wrap kimono-type dresses, which offer a new spin on a classic silhouette. Her designs have been featured in publications such as Lucky, The New Yorker and Chicago Tribune.
