Shoshanna

Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss was born and raised in Manhattan. Later she studied at the University of California Los Angeles where she earned degrees in History and Art History. Upon graduating, she began working at a lingerie factory to learn about design and the fashion industry. During this time Shoshanna noticed there was a lack of dresses to fit a curvier body type. Due to this hole in the market, Shoshanna debuted her own line in November, 1998. Her dresses were an instant success and bikinis and sweater sets followed. The two-piece bathing suits were sold as separates so customers could fit for their body type. This revolutionary way of creating bikinis soon caught on for other designers. Shoshanna has served as a contributing editor and TV correspondent on fashion. Celebrity clients include Kristin Davis, Heather Graham and Mariah Carey. Her clothing has been featured in InStyle, Shape and Elle magazines, just to name a few.
